The 1919 Diary of Ypsilanti High School Teacher Carrie Hardy

Part of a year-long serialization of Ypsilanti high school math teacher Carrie Hardy's diary.May 27 Tues. School attendance in P.M. awful on account of May Day on the Green at Normal. Saw Little Women with Lillian at Martha.

May 28 Wed. Student-Faculty Council met. Lillian's 21st birthday. Was at Lillian's home for supper + went with her to the Martha in evening.

May 29 Thurs. After school there was a meeting of the Student Council and the Constitution was completed. Went driving in evening.

May 30 Fri. No School. Took May Webb over to Cemetery--was with the Webbs for dinner. Saw Mr. Rogers. Miss L. was over twice. Lillian stayed all night. Arbaugh and school census. Bath.

May 31 Sat. Cleaned and washed windows. Washed my hair. Went down town for groceries. Went to martha and both banks. Worked in garden. Rode with Lillian and Iva in Eve.

June 1 Sun. Worked all A.M. Marked cards and sent Lillian for ice cream and wafers. Watered garden. Rested in eve + went to bed early.

June 2 Mon. Took down my porch curtains + delivred them to Mrs. Hodges. Drove Lillian + May Webb to school. Teachers meeting. Mrs. Bentley's birthday party at Temple.

June 3 Tues. Very, *very* warm. Am going to the Martha to see Mar. Clark in Mrs. Wigg's Cabbage patch. School fair. Drove L and May Webb to school this A.M.
