IT is told of a young gentleman, whom a maiden liked but her father didn't, that at a reasonable hour the old gent mildly intimated that the time for retiring had arrived. "I think you are correct," answered the nineteenth century, modestly. "We have been waiting over an hour for you to put yourself in your little bed."
