What a beauty!

Anonymous: When I finally found this in one of the Archives' old photo albums, I actually felt my heart leap in shock and a micro-moment of fear---because her illness is so clearly written into her face. But she is so very beautiful as well, almost with a suggestion of the resigned sadness that would come of knowing of her own sickness.

She IS exquisite. Such an arresting beauty.

This was taken shortly before she died.

n.b. if you click on her photo to enlarge it, you can see her neck-pin matches her earrings. And so much more of her personality comes through in the larger photo--it's almost mesmerizing.
